Destination NOLA

ABSINTHE SUISSESSE
In a city rife with iconic drinks, few are more iconic than an Absin
the Frappé or an Absinthe Suissesse.
Sadly, these drinks are tough to find outside Nola. Nothing signals you've hit the Big Easy like cooling crème de menthe and orgeat bright with anise. Our Suissesse is Nola-meets-Bay-Area with a blend of Herbsaint and our own great St. George Spirits absinthe.
(Pro tip: when in New Orleans, legendary bartender Chris McMillian at Revel Cafe & Bar makes the ultimate Suissesse).

MISSION MILK PUNCH
A long held Nola tradition, Brandy Milk Punch (and Bourbon Milk Punch) is a staple at legendary restaurants like Commander's Palace or Brennan's where one wouldn't do Sunday jazz brunch without it. We went full-on Mexico/California/The Mission-meets-Nola in a creamy bourbon milk punch kicked up with green pepper spice of Ancho Verde.

Search Chris McMillian͛s name on You Tube and you͛ll discover videos of him making the world͛s best Ramos Gin Fizz or Mint Julep. This legendary Nola bartender with the gruff, warm voice has perfected cocktail classics, making the best versions you͛ll ever have of many of Nola͛s historic drinks. At Revel Cafe & Bar, which Chris opened with wife Laura, spirituous End of the Road is his own creation with a classic ethos — a recipe he kindly shared with us.

ICED CAFE BRULOT
A classic Café Brulot is a historic Nola brunch staple, dramatically
flamed tableside
(often via cart) at many of the city's legendary restaurants. To keep it refreshing year round, we went iced with our Brulot showcasing the cinnamon-clove-steeped coffee and Cognac cooled and bright with fresh orange juice, with a flamed orange peel nodding to the traditional fiery presentation.

SEASONAL COBBLER
A tribute to one of our favorite Nola bars (from owners of the popular Cure and Cane & Table), Bellocq sadly closed in 2016. With its extensive Cobbler menu served in julep cups, Bellocq͛s
Cobblers showcased low proof (sherry, madeira, vermouth, wine) to full proof spirits with seasonal fruits and herbs. A Cobbler is the perfect antidote to sweltering, humid Nola days. While it͛s not near as hot here, we, too, love an icy refresher — especially one showcasing
seasonal, NorCal produce.

HURRICANE
This boozy passionfruit cocktail is a fruity bomb created by New Orleans tavern owner Pat O'Brien, famously poured into hurricane lamp – shaped glasses and served to sailors. Our bracing rum version is tart and sweet.. but not too sweet... just like the best versions in Nola.
